Sales Of Electric And Hybrid Vehicles Speed Up In Q1

According to the statement from, Turkish Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Platform (TEHAD), while the number of 23 electric and hybrid vehicles was sold in the first quarter, the number reached 563 units in this category in the same period this year. TEHAD founder Berkan Bayram announced the automobile drivers in Turkey have begun to show interest in the hybrid vehicles some more. Stating with regard to special consumption tax regulation which was enacted in the favor of the hybrid automobiles became attractive for the automobile drivers, Bayram said; “We can observe the sales of C and D segment hybrid models have reached a noteworthy number when compared with gasoline and diesel models. The special consumption tax price difference in the rate of some 15-20 percent equals virtually a secondhand B segment vehicle.” The foundation aim of Turkey’s Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Association (TEHAD) is to show the viability of transportation and freight having zero carbon emission. TEHAD aims to allow chargeable vehicles appear on highways much more. TEHAD is also a civil society organization to make sustainable solutions for the transport problems which threaten human health and environment.
