The number of 1 million 42 thousand 328 road motor vehicles entered traffic in January December, so the total number of vehicles reached 18,828,721 units in Turkey, according to the statement from Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat)
The total number of road motor vehicles registered to the traffic reached 18 million 828 thousand 721 by the end of December in Turkey, TurkStat released. Within the total, cars represented 52.4%, followed by small trucks 16.3%, motorcycles 15%, tractors 8.6%, trucks 4.1%, minibuses 2.3%, buses 1.1% and special purpose vehicles 0.2%.
In December, 95,576 vehicles registered
Of these, 95 thousand 576 vehicle registrations in December, cars accounted for 61.2%, followed by small trucks 15.5%, motorcycles 9.3% and tractors 8.5%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 5.5% of new registrations
The number of vehicles registrations up 1.8% over previous month
In December, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 1.8% compared with November. Cars, minibuses, buses, special purpose vehicles and tractors increased by 4.7%, 6.8%, 26.5%, 9.2% and 15.9% respectively. Small trucks, trucks and motorcycles decreased by 2.5%, 20.3% and 12.9%
The number of vehicles registered up 16.7% over the same month previous year
In December, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 16.7% compared with the same month of the previous year. Cars, minibuses, small trucks, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors increased by 11.9%, 29.5%, 50.1%, 15.5%, 20.2%, 15.5%. Buses and trucks decreased by 0.8% and 9.4% respectively.
In the period of January – December, the total number of road motor vehicles in traffic increased by 889,274
While 153 thousand 54 road motor vehicles were withdrawn, 1 million 42 thousand 328 road motor vehicles were added in January-December. Hence, the total number of road motor vehicles registered increased by 889 thousand 274 in 2014.
608,706 road motor vehicles handed over in December
The number of 608 thousand 706 vehicles handed over, cars accounted for 67.6% followed by small trucks 16.9%, tractors 5.4% and motorcycles 3.6%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 6.6% of the handed over motor vehicles in December.
The ratio of cars registered using LPG was 41.4%
At the end of December, among 9 million 857 thousand 915 registered cars, the share of LPG-fuelled cars is 41.4% followed by diesel-fuelled cars with 29.2% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 29%. The ratio of the cars with unknown fuel type is 0.4%.
In December, 58,501 cars were registered to the traffic
In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the 58 thousand 501 new registered cars in December, Volkswagen recorded 14.7%, Renault 13%, Hyundai 7.3%, Opel 7%, Toyota 6.6%, Ford 5.7%, Fiat 5.3%, Dacia 5.2%, BMW 4.7%, Mercedes-Benz 4.3% and the other trademarks 26.1% of the total.
Most frequent engine size is 1501-1600 for registered cars
Within 585 thousand 814 cars registered to traffic in January December period, 40.7% of them have engine size 1501-1600, 20.8% have 1401-1500, 18.2% have 1300 or less, 14% have 1301-1400, 4.5% have 1601-2000, 1.6% have 2001 and above engine size. The share of cars with unknown engine size is 0.1%
Most frequent colour is white for registered cars
Within 585 thousand 814 cars registered to traffic in January December period, 62.5% of them are white, 16.8% are grey, 9.5% are black, 4.9% are red and 6.4% are in other colours.
Average age of vehicles registered to traffic is calculated as 12.5
By the end of year 2014, the average age of 18 million 828 thousand 721 road motor vehicles which registered to traffic in Turkey is calculated as 12.5. Average age is 12 for cars and minibuses, 11.7 for buses, 9.3 for small trucks, 14.3 for trucks, 11.6 for motorcycles, 13.6 for special purpose vehicles and 22.8 for tractors. By the end of year 2014, looking at the distribution of cars by age groups, cars within 0-5 constitute 33.6% of the cars registered whereas cars 21 and over ages constitute 20.3%
