Turkish automotive production raised 16 percent amounting to 1 million 359 thousand and the total market 25 percent, as for unit-base exports increased 12 percent in 2015
In 2015, the total automotive production enlarged 16 percent, automobile production 8 percent year on year. The number of total automotive production reached by 1 million 359 thousand units, automobile production to 791 thousand units, according to the statement posted by Automotive Manufacturers Association. The total market expanded 25 percent amounting to 1 million 11 thousand units in 2015 year on year. In this period automobile market increased 24 percent amounting to 726 thousand units. As for the total automotive exports increased 12 percent in unit base, automobile exports 4 percent respectively. The total exports reached by 992 thousand units, automobile exports to 605 thousand units in 2015. The commercial vehicle exports increased 28 percent to 388 thousand units. The tractor exports dropped 12 percent to 14,932 units. According to the Turkish Ministry of Economy, the automotive exports decreased 5 percent in the basis of value and became $21,619 billion in 2015. As for euro-base, the exports increased 14 percent to 19,060 billion euro.
Production
In 2015, the total production increased 16 percent totaling 1 million 359 thousand units, automobile production reached by 791 thousand units with 8 percent rise. Tractor production increased 6 percent amounting to 51,238 units. Together with tractor production the total vehicle production reached by 1 million 410 thousand units. Market
The total sales reached by 1 million 011 thousand units with 25 percent increase in 2015 year on year. Automobile market increased 24 percent totaling 726 thousand units. Between 2005-2015, the share of imported automobile market became 74 percent. In 2015, the total automobile sales increased 24, imported ones 25 and domestic made ones 19 percent. The imported automobile market share in December 2015 became 71 percent year on year. The sales of imported light commercial vehicles such as minibus + pick up became 44 percent in 2015. In 2015, the total sales of light commercial vehicles increased 34, imported ones 31 and domestic made ones 38 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the imported light commercial vehicle market share became 40 percent in December 2015. The heavy commercial vehicle market increased 8 percent totaling 43,177 units in 2015 over the previous year. The truck market enlarged 7 percent to 37,833 units with regard to development in the construction sector. Increase in the bus market was 47 percent to 2,032 units, in minibus market 10 percent to 3,312 units last year. According to last decade on average, the total market increased 32.4 percent, automobile market 43.9 percent, light commercial vehicle 9.6 percent and truck market 16.1 percent, as for the bus market decreased 1.6 percent.
