Turkish Aviation Sector Surges 14%

In 2008, while there were 43 domestic flight lines and 109 international flight lines in total 152 flight destinations, currently the number of flight destinations has reached 295 units with 94 percent rise

The Turkish aviation transport has grown 14 percent versus international aviation that showed 5.6 percent growth in the last decade.

The developing economy in Turkey has also brought together the growth in high rate for the aviation sector as well as in numerous sectors. In Turkey, as of the beginning of August 2017, the number of air balloons boosted 337 percent, passenger aircraft 265 percent, business jet 41.8 percent respectively since 2008.

According to the information from Directorate General of Civil Aviation a subsidiary company of the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Communication, Turkish aviation sector has featured the quickest growing country across the world in recent years.

In Turkey, the number of passenger aircraft which is operated by the aviation businesses was 271 units in 2008, as of August 2017 the number has reached by 988 with 265 percent rise. Between the years 2008 and 2017, increase in the business jets has drawn attention. In 2008, while there were 55 business jets, as of August 2017 the number of business jets has reached 78 units with 41.8 percent in Turkey.

Also the number of air balloon which is used by airway business enterprises showed increase in the record number in this period. The number of balloon, which was 57 units in 2008, surged by 249 with 337 percent rise as of June 2017.
