Turkish automobile production increased 27 percent as for the total automotive production 17 percent in the first ten months of 2017, compared to the same period last year
The total production of Turkish automobile industry increased 17 percent in the first ten months, the automobile production 27 percent in 2017, according to the announcement from the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD).
In this period, the total automotive production accomplished 1 million 380 thousand, the automobile production became in the level of 941 thousand units. The sector production hit the highest level in the first ten months of 2017 in the sector historical cycle.
The total automotive domestic market kept its level with the number of 736 thousand units in January-October 2017, but automobile market slightly constricted 1% to 547 thousand units in this period over the same period last year.
In the commercial vehicle group, as the production kept its level same with last year, the light commercial production decreased 1%. The production surged 1% in the heavy commercial vehicles. As the commercial vehicle market increased 2% and light commercial vehicle market 3% respectively; the heavy commercial vehicle market decreased 6%.
As for the sector exports, the unit-base total exports increased 22 percent, automobile exports 34 percent respectively in the first ten months in 2017 over the same period last year. In this period, the total automotive exports reached 1 million 103 thousand units, as for the automobile exports accomplished the number of 769 thousand units. The total automotive exports increased 21 percent based on dollar and euro in the first ten months of 2017 over the same period previous year. The total automobile exports became worth $23,8 billion, automobile exports surged 54% to $9,7 billion, also increase enjoyed 54% based on euro to 8,7 billion euro.
