The first edition of Festival of Motoring will be held at Intercity Istanbul Park in September 2018 in Turkey. Being organized by Intercity Istanbul Park and Messe Frankfurt cooperating with Goodwood, Festival of Motoring Istanbul will feature the first automobile, motor vehicles and motor sports event in Turkey. The festival, which will be held at Intercity Istanbul Park in September 2018, ranges in the scope of topical and classical passenger vehicles, motorbikes, race and tractor exhibitions, aviation showoff as well as testing world records. In the festival at which all vehicles can be inspected closely, visitors will be in action with test riding, runway tour, driving schools, go-kart, simulator and more surprise events. While the tastes both from the Turkish and world culinary to be offered to the admiration of visitors, concerts will be also performed at the festival.
Vural Ak, Chairman of Intercity Istanbul Park, in the speech of promotion of Festival of Motoring, stating the event which had been planned as an international organization included more than one a fair, a festival, a race, and said many of producers of automobiles, motorbikes, motor vehicle and sellers and supplier industry firms will be represented at Intercity Istanbul Park during 10 days in September 2018. Stating they have signed an organization that would be a first not only in Turkey but also in the world, Ak continued; “The visitors can be able to riding test on surrounding roads as well as inspecting the vehicles to be displayed. There is also possibility of test driving with speed performing vehicles together accompanying the race pilots. Also both new and secondhand vehicles can be purchased. So, the event will be also staged to a trade in addition to car exhibitions. The pilots from across the world in the area of Formula-1, off-road, rally and rallycross and upper level model cars will be raced. During 10 days at the event hundreds of races will be performed. Ranging from children to elders, the activities – which will address to everybody – will be held. We are preparing a very colorful and great organization. We look forward to meeting September 2018.”
He also added they would expect the number of 1 million visitors to come to the Festival of Monitoring in Istanbul.
Stating they would begin promotion of Festival of Monitoring with Messe Frankfurt from Germany and Goodwood the organizer of ‘Festival of Speed’ from the UK, Ak said; “The international automobile and motor sports firms will join the festival. We will host lots of legendary pilots in the automobile sports. A crowded foreign guest from sports, business and art world that we have not seen earlier will be in Turkey. If we take into consideration majority of one million people from abroad to Istanbul, the entire tourism circle will be affected very positive in terms of hotels and restaurants in the city.”
Tayfun Yardim, Director General of Messe Frankfurt for Istanbul, said they would hold an organization which includes firsts and uniquity in Turkey.
