Toyota Turkey has extended its cooperation agreement – which was signed with Sakarya University in 2014 – by 2022 in line with support education
The cooperation of Toyota Turkey with Sakarya University has been extended by 2022 to provide opportunity for internship, experience and progress of youths following successful three years. Maintain its activities with understanding to add value to its existing region; Toyota Turkey has completed its cooperation agreement which was signed in 2014 for three years with Sakarya University in line with support education. During last 3 three years that opened doors of opportunity for the students in terms of advancement, the cooperation agreement has been extended a more 5 year with participation of Necdet Senturk, Deputy Director General of Toyota Turkey and Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, Rector of Sakarya University.
At the end of the number of students having reached and positive feedbacks, in the scope of the cooperation of which the time has been extended for occupational developments of the students in Arifiye Occupational High School is also supported, and contribution to be ensured to raise qualified human resources to meet the need in the automotive manufacturing and supplier industry. The internship opportunity has been offered to 433 students in the scope of agreement. Also the number of 917 students and academicians from Sakarya University visited the production facilities and observed Toyota Production System applications and technology in Toyota production processes. In the scope of the cooperation, also education about Toyota’s culture and application was given in addition to internships and factory visits. Toyota Automotive Industry Turkey also contributed thesis and homework studies of the students during year.
Stating his appreciation due to enlarging range of cooperation with Sakarya University, Necdet Senturk, Deputy Director General of Toyota Turkey, said; “We have been in 4th year of our agreement with Sakarya University. As this synergy provides lots of mutual advantage for two sides, the students have also gained application opportunity through long term internship programs that organized by Sakarya University to see how to apply theoretical knowledges into working life. The expert lecturers from both the factory and university shared their knowledge and experiences with students. As we offer to know our plant closely to the university students and academicians we also shared Toyota production and management system and basic Toyota’s values. In the scope of cooperation we have also benefited from expertize of dear university members. So, we are grateful. With this occasion, I would like to thank to rector Muzaffer Elmas and everybody who exerted effort.”
Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas in his speech said; “Our University performs successes in every field in recent years. One of fields in which have been successful is university-industry cooperation. As Sakarya University, we give a crucial importance to university-industry cooperation. Along with concrete projects to be realized in this cooperation the steps to be taken to improve cooperation has importance in terms of education and training. I believe the cooperation with Toyota to strengthen more with this protocol.”
