As of the end of September 2017, the total number of road motor vehicles registered in traffic reached 21,940,757 units in Turkey
The total number of road motor vehicles registered to the traffic reached 21 million 940 thousand 757 by the end of September. Within the total, cars represented 54%, followed by small trucks 16.4%, motorcycles 14.1%, tractors 8.3%, trucks 3.8%, minibuses 2.2%, buses 1% and special purpose vehicles 0.2%, according to the statement posted by Turkish Statistical Institute.
In September, 86,497 motor vehicle registrations were recorded
Within 86 thousand 497 vehicle registrations in September, cars accounted for 52.8%, followed by motorcycles 19.2%, small trucks 15.1% and tractors 7.2%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 5.7% of new registrations.
The number of motor vehicle registrations downed 19.8% over the previous month
In September, the number of road motor vehicle registrations decreased by 19.8% compared with the previous month. Cars, minibuses, small trucks, trucks and motorcycles decreased by 27.8%, 2.2%, 25.8%, 13.2%, and 6.1% respectively. Buses, special purpose vehicles and tractors increased by 21%, 112.7% and 35.9%.
The number of motor vehicles registered up 7.5% over the same month previous year
In September, the number of road motor vehicle registrations increased by 7.5% compared with the same month of the previous year. Minibuses, buses, trucks, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors increased by 4.1%, 44.7%, 22.9%, 44.5%, 101.8% and 22.4% respectively. Cars and small trucks decreased by 0.6% and 7.1%.
In January-September, the total number of motor vehicles in traffic increased by 850,333
While 74 thousand 12 road motor vehicles were withdrawn, 924 thousand 345 road motor vehicles were added in January-September period. Hence, the total number of road motor vehicles registered increased by 850 thousand 333.
580,566 road motor vehicles handed over in September
Among 580 thousand 566 vehicles handed over, cars accounted for 68.2% followed by small trucks 16%, motorcycles 5.7% and tractors 3.8%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 6.3% of the handed over motor vehicles in September.
The ratio of cars registered using LPG was 38.6%
At the end of September, among 11 million 846 thousand 85 registered cars, the share of LPG-fuelled cars was 38.6% followed by diesel-fuelled cars with 34.9% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 26.1%. The ratio of the cars with unknown fuel type was 0.4%.
In September, 45,659 new cars were registered to the traffic
In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the 45 thousand 659 new registered cars in September, Volkswagen recorded 15%, Renault 13%, Fiat 8.9%, Hyundai 7.2%, Toyota 5.7%, Opel 5.1%, Skoda 5%, Mercedes-Benz 4.9%, Dacia 4.7%, Ford 4.5% and the other trademarks 26% of the total.
Most frequent engine size was 1501-1600 for registered cars
Within 540 thousand 454 cars registered to traffic in January-September period, 40.5% of them had engine size 1501-1600, 26.5% had 1401-1500, 14.4% had 1300 or less, 13.4% had 1301-1400, 3.9% had 1601-2000, 1.1% had 2001 and above engine size.
Most frequent colour was white for registered cars
Within 540 thousand 454 cars registered to traffic in January-September period, 59.6% of them were white, 17.6% were grey, 7.5% were black, 5.7% were red and 9.6% were in other colours.
