The applications for ‘Automotive Technologies’ category are continuing in the structure of ITU ARI Teknokent for the year 2016. This year, application deadline for ‘Automotive Technologies’ category is on 15th April 2016. ITU Cekirdek distributed over TL500 thousand and TL720 thousand in cash for cloud informatics to 5 projects contested in ‘Automotive Technologies’ categories with main supporter Automotive Exporters Association (OIB). ITU Cekirdek, which has installed “Automotive Technologies” with the OIB and set as a special category, aims to help to the automotive sector to reach a strong structure having sustainable competitive advantage. The entrepreneurs who have opinion or projects directed towards all components and accessories constitute the automobile such as safety systems, eco-friendly units, navigation, smart outfitting, electric and electronic systems, interior and outer lighting, smart vehicle software, can apply for this category. Announcing about the issue, Omer Burhanoglu, deputy chairman of the OIB, said, “As the OIB, we maintain our trip to allow our country to get design, R & D and branded products since 2015 cooperation with ITU Cekirdek. I believe that we will gain more entrepreneurs with contribution of ITU Cekirdek which is managing the incubation service in terms of developing of the project and design which qualified in our contest as well as being offered to the industry.” Associate Prof. Dr. Deniz Tuncalp, Deputy Director General of ITU ARI Teknokent, said, ITU Cekirdek ensured over TL7 million for the entrepreneurs last year, this year they would maintain their supports for the successful projects. Tuncalp continued; “Last year as ITU Teknokent, we included ‘Automotive Technologies’ category to ITU Cekirdek. We believe that this category has begun to change the perception of the automotive sector in Turkey. When said development in the area of automotive in Turkey, the businessmen who manufacture automotive in the wide size at the giant facilities as well as giant companies come to mind. However, we say that this great added-value ensured to our country will boost more thanks to entrepreneurs who develop automotive technologies and contribute to national competitiveness. Last year, the projects gained successes in this category are the qualification proves value-added would be gained from the automotive technologies much more than manufacturing a vehicle. Our faith is full for this year in this area successful works will happen too.”
