The number of 22 car models will be examined in Turkey’s car of the year contest which is held by
the Association for Automotive Journalists first time
The automobiles, which will contest in “Car of the Year in Turkey” having held by the Association for Automotive
Journalists (OGD), have been determined. The number of 22 models from 18 brands will be evaluated in the qualification. The automobiles, which will contest in “Car of the Year in Turkey” is being organized by the OGD, have been determined. According to the announcement from the OGD, there are 22 cars including 18 brands in the shortlist which has been determined by the election committee and has been approved by the OGD administration. In the shortlist following cars take place: “Audi A4, BMW 7 Series, Fiat 500X, Fiat Egea, Ford Mondeo, Ford Mustang, Honda Jazz, Hyundai Tucson, Jaguar XE, Kia Sorento, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Mazda CX-3, Mercedes GLC, Mercedes C-Coupe, MINI Clubman, Opel Astra, Renault Talisman, Renault Kadjar, Skoda Superb, Ssangyong Tivoli, Subaru Levorg, Volvo XC90”. Qualification to be in two stages Election of “Car of the Year in Turkey” will be in two stages. The all nominees for car of the year will be subjected to a crucial examination in terms of safety and technical features in the test organization to be carried out at Intercity Istanbul Park in 25th March 2016. Following this test, every jury member will vote their favorite automobiles. So, first 7 automobiles suggested by the jury members will eligible to contest in the final. The qualified 7 automobiles will be announced on 28th March 2016. In the second stage of the contest, every jury member will distribute their own 250 points between the nominee automobiles. Every member will give only maximum 100 points for one automobile. The finalist which takes the most point will be chosen “car of the year in Turkey”. The winning automobile will be announced in April 2016 with ceremony.
