Turkish Automotive Exports Surge 41% In July

Turkish automotive exports increased 41 percent to worth $2 billion 434 million in July 2017 over the same month previous year, accounting for 21.2 percent in the overall exports

Positioning as the locomotive sector in the Turkish economy,the automotive industry boosted its exports 41.1 percent to worth $2 billion 434 million in July 2017 over the same month last year. According to the statement posted from Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters Association (OIB), the automotive sector accomplished its exports with 41.1 percent rise in July, accounting for 21.2 percent in the overall exports of Turkey. Increase in the passenger cars up 74 percent The exports increase in the passenger cars with 74 percent became the basic determination in the sector export success in July 2017. In the aspect of sector segments, the passenger cars increased the exports 74 percent to $1 billion 56 million, the supplier industry with 26 percent rise reached $751 million, special purpose vehicles with 15 percent to $436 million and busminibus- midibus with 60 percent to $136 million. While the exports increased 26 percent to Germany, 27 percent to Italy which feature the most exported countries of the sector; the exports increased 17% to both France and Iran, 32% to the USA, 74% to Russia in July 2017. Automotive sector exports up 41 percent to the EU The share of the European Union (EU) features the biggest market in the Turkish automotive exports was 78 percent. The sector exports to the EU countries increased 41 percent to $1 billion 900 million. In the alternative markets, the exports  ncreased 102 percent to the USA market; to the ex-western block countries the exports increased 64 percent and 50 percent to Asia Ocean countries in July 2017.
