The Turkish logistic sector is not only a closed market hauling freights from A point to B point inside of the country, but it is also a bridge for the international companies, according to Gerhard Gerritzen, Deputy Managing Director of Messe München. He added that Turkey has been in a good place strategically. Highlighting Turkey was an important transferring center from Europe to other places for hauling of commodities, Gerritzen said lots of automobile and textile companies’ production plants have been in Turkey, those goods produced in the country should be transported to other markets. Stating those all of things made Turkey an attraction hub in terms of logistics, Gerritzen recorded, “Turkey is a very interesting market for the international players in terms of logistic sector.”
Logistic sector ensures a good development in Turkey
Indicating notable companies in the logistic sector have existed in Turkey, they have set up networks in the international area, accomplished remarkable growth and can be able to compete internationally, Gerritzen highlighted the logistic sector has achieved a good development in Turkey.
Noting the international companies would like to set up directly business connections or partnership in Turkey, Gerritzen said, “There are companies that see Turkey an important market and invest in Turkey.”
Silk Road and airway connections
Underscoring another issue was to be recovered of the infrastructure which played a crucial role; Gerritzen drew attention to connections to be built in the scope of the Silk Road and airway transportation.
He also marked the transfers to be made in Istanbul could be reached everywhere of the world. “Turks are the competitors to be taken into consideration both for the Gulf countries and the airway companies in Europe. This is regarded by Lufthansa and others like this as well,” Gerritzen said.
