Clean Energy from Source to Wheel: An Impact Equal to the Annual Emissions of 25,000 Vehicles

As the electric vehicle market continues to grow, the impact of charging infrastructure is being evaluated not only in terms of accessibility but also based on the source of the electricity used. Eşarj, Türkiye’s first electric vehicle charging network operator and a wholly owned subsidiary of Enerjisa Enerji, has contributed to preventing 123 million kilograms of carbon emissions by the end of 2025 through charging sessions powered by YEK-G–certified renewable energy. This environmental impact is equivalent to keeping approximately 25,000 fossil fuel vehicles off the road for an entire year. Eşarj also holds the distinction of being Türkiye’s first charging network operator with a green energy certificate.

As Türkiye’s first electric vehicle charging network operator and a fully owned subsidiary of Enerjisa Enerji, Eşarj focuses on how charging infrastructure develops in terms of energy sources during the growth of electric mobility. Providing charging services powered entirely by renewable energy, Eşarj approaches this issue within a holistic “from source to wheel” framework.

In Türkiye, where the number of electric vehicles has nearly doubled over the past year, this rapid transformation has significantly increased demand for charging station networks, while also signaling a new era in which the share of fossil fuel vehicles in the total vehicle fleet will gradually decline. Contributing to this transition through investments in fast charging stations and customer experience, Eşarj documents that the electricity used at its stations comes from renewable sources as the first charging operator in Türkiye to hold a green energy certificate.

Thanks to renewable energy–powered charging, Eşarj had contributed to preventing 123 million kilograms of carbon emissions by the end of 2025—an impact equivalent to taking approximately 25,000 fossil fuel vehicles off the road for one year.

Sustainable mobility shaped by customer experience

Eşarj develops its customer experience not behind a desk, but by listening to electric vehicle users and incorporating feedback from the field. Users’ needs during the charging process play a decisive role not only in the development of digital solutions such as Eşarj Auto and the Trip Planning feature, but also in shaping new station investments through direct user input such as location recommendations. In this way, clean energy becomes not just an environmental choice, but also a fast, easy, and reliable experience for users.

Eşarj General Manager – Yakup Aydilek

Aydilek: “Trust and sustainability will be the most critical factors determining the success of e-mobility”

Emphasizing that they contribute to reducing carbon emissions by offering the ability to charge electric vehicles with YEK-G–certified energy, Eşarj General Manager Yakup Aydilek shared the following assessment: “Electric mobility in Türkiye is now a rapidly scaling transformation. While the number of electric vehicles stood at around 185,000 at the end of 2024, it exceeded 373,000 by December 2025; during the same period, the number of commercial charging sockets increased from 26,000 to over 38,000. This picture clearly shows that the need for investment in charging infrastructure will grow even further in the coming years. As Eşarj, we act with the responsibility that comes from being the first charging operator to launch this business in Türkiye. We believe that the environmental benefits of electric mobility are only meaningful when charging is powered 100% by renewable energy, and we embrace the clean energy from source to wheel approach. In this growing and increasingly competitive market, what truly makes a difference is not only infrastructure, but user experience. With solutions developed by listening to our customers, we address growth together with a responsible consumption mindset and aim to make sustainable mobility a natural part of everyday life, guided by our goal of a Better Future for All.”
