UN R0-R0, a leading establishment of the seaway shipping has made cooperation with the leading airway company, the Turkish Airlines. The leading firm of intermodal shipping in Ro-Ro lines between Turkey-Europe, U.N. Ro-Ro Inc. has made an agreement with the Turkish Airlines to provide easier transport for the drivers of TIRs. In the scope of the agreement, first year the number of 45 thousand TIR drivers will fly in the comfort of the Turkish Airways to the ports. Flexibility will be ensured in flights at the end of cooperation between the Turkish Airlines, the leading airway company of Turkey and U.N. Ro-Ro the market leader of Ro-Ro lines as an alternative way to highway transportation, flight schedules will give longer relaxing time for the drivers. In the framework of the agreement, the cooperation, which started in 2015 with the flights to Marseille, has been extended up to the year 2018. Having enlarged the coverage of the cooperation in order to serve to the Ro-Ro lines which go to Trieste, the flights to Venice and Ljubljana have been planned to carry totally 100 thousand passengers for 3 years. A total of 150 thousand customers of U.N. Ro-Ro will fly through the trips in the international standards and quality of Turkish Airlines. U.N. Ro-Ro CEO Sedat Gumusoglu in his announcement said, “We are very happy regarding realizing the agreement with the Turkish Airlines to allow our TIRs’ drivers to have comfortable transport. Especially, having many trips to France, operational flexibilities and having flights to Marseille are important regarding having preferred of the Turkish Airlines in the first stage. We have taken into consideration of increased passenger number and Venice airport’s demands. As for the customers of Mersin-Trieste Ro-Ro line in Anatolia, we would realize the flights of Adana, Kayseri and Gaziantep through Turkish Airlines with connected flights.” Turkish Airlines Corporate Sales and Marketing Manager Merve Dogru said, “Turkish Airlines has reached a position flying more foreign destinations with 236 destinations abroad in 113 countries. We are also the airway company having most flights with 49 destinations in Turkey. Its role and institutional qualification of U.N. Ro-Ro in the sector has been one of the most importantfactors in being realized of this agreement.
