Turkey’s Registered Vehicles Exceed 20 Million

The total number of road motor vehicles registered to the traffic reached 20 million 98 thousand 994 by the end of January this year. Within the total, cars represented 53%, followed by small trucks 16.3%, motorcycles 14.6%, tractors 8.5%, trucks 4%, minibuses 2.3%, buses 1.1% and special purpose vehicles 0.2%.

In January, 111,000 vehicle registrations were recorded
Of these 111 thousand vehicle registrations in January, cars accounted for 61.7%, followed by small trucks 22.7%, motorcycles 4.6% and trucks 4%. Minibuses, buses, tractors and special purpose vehicles constituted 7% of new vehicle registrations.

The number of vehicles registrations decreased 11.6% over previous month
In January, the number of road motor vehicle registrations decreased by 11.6% compared with December. Cars,
minibuses, buses, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles and tractors decreased by 16.6%, 0.4%, 4.4%, 34.1%, 34.1% and 49.6% respectively. Small trucks and trucks increased by 18.1% and 74.7%.

The number of vehicles registered decreased 19.2% over the same month previous year

Among 449 thousand 696 vehicles handed over, cars accounted for 70.9% followed by small trucks 16.6%, tractors 3.7% and motorcycles 3.2%. Minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles constituted 5.6% of the handed over motor vehicles in January.

The ratio of cars registered using LPG was 40.2%
At the end of January, among 10 million 656 thousand 778 registered cars, the share of LPG-fuelled cars is 40.2% followed by diesel-fuelled cars with 31.8% and gasoline-fuelled cars with 27.6%. The ratio of the cars with unknown fuel type is 0.4%.

In January, 68,491 cars were registered to the traffic
In terms of the distribution of trademarks for the 68 thousand 491 new registered cars in January, Renault recorded 18.2%, Volkswagen 10%, Fiat 9.2%, Hyundai 7.8%, Ford 6.5%, Toyota 6.2%, Dacia 6%, Opel 6%, Nissan 3.8%, Peugeot 3.5% and the other trademarks 22.7% of the total.

Most frequent engine size is 1501-1600 for registered cars
Within 68 thousand 491 cars registered to traffic in January, 35.5% of them have engine size 1501-1600, 30.2% have 1401-1500, 15.6% have 1301-1400, 14% have 1300 or less, 3.2% have 1601-2000, 1.5% have 2001 and above engine size.

White is the most preferred color in cars
Within 68 thousand 491 cars registered to traffic in January, 64.4% of them are white, 14.2% are grey, 9% are black, 6.1% are red and 6.3% are in other colours.
