Third Airport To Be Opened Next Year

Once the third airport construction finishes will serve for 150 million
passengers as the biggest airport of the world, currently 55 percent of the airport has been completed of the first phase to enter into force on 29th October in next year

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim supervised the huge projects of which construction are continuing in Istanbul via helicopter ride accompanying Ahmet Arslan, the Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communication; Vasip Sahin, Governor of Istanbul and Kadir Topbas, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan. Reminding the first section of the project would be completed in 2018, PM Yildirim said, “We have found opportunity to scrutinize the biggest airport of the world through sky. Nearly the silhouette of the third airport has revealed.” 29th October 2018 is Inauguration date Highlighting transportation would be provided to the airport easily, Yildirim said; “Metro connection is being built in order to allow our citizens to arrive in the airport. In addition, works are continuing to set connection with highways. Currently 55 percent of the airport has been completed. The project will have been truly finished on 29th October in next year and have been opened to service. Indicating the airport which would take place in the foremost airports of the world the first phase of its would serve to 90 million of passengers, PM Yildirim said, “Even the first phase has a capacity as much as in the size of the biggest airports in the world, even bigger. So, once this airport enters into force our country will be juncture of Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia in the aviation and will be a hub of the aviation. Of course, this will let the global economy to get a different dimension.” Telling previous condition of the airport project field, Yildirim said: “The project area previously constituted of abandoned mine quarries and mud. Years ago, coals were distributed from here in Istanbul. Now, we are building an airport on it. The third airport is being constructed with buildoperate- transport system costing 10 billion euro. After 25-year operation, the biggest airport of the world will remain to the state.” “Virtually, a city is being built up in the district of the third airport. Currently, there is nearly the number of 30 thousand workers, over 8 thousand construction machines. When the first stage is finished, it will be a city where 100 thousand people to work.”
