The 38th General Meeting of Association of Automotive Parts & Components Association (TAYSAD) was held and Alper Kanca was elected as a new head of TAYSAD. Taking over the task by being elected unanimously, Alper Kanca announced objectives of TAYSAD of the new period to audiences. Remarking the administration set out with the objective to enter into first 10 leading countries in the world through its Design, Technology, Supply capability, the elected chairman Kanca said they had aimed to get a role to increase Turkish automotive supplier industry share in the world as well as its contribution to the country economy by improving efficiency of the sector. Kanca continued, “During our task, ‘innovation’ will be the issue we will give weight mostly. We, as TAYSAD, we want to let the project ‘Innovative Technologies’ acquire to the Turkish Capital’. Then we want this to take in incentive packaging. Another step we want to increase our members’ talents in term of R & D, Innovation and Industry 4.0. Another noteworthy work during our working term is the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the sector’s demands to be taken into consideration in likely reviewing of Customs Union.” Dr. Mehmet Dudaroglu, the former head of TAYSAD, in his speech said, “In order to increase our chance to attain our future targets, we should have a sector, in other words industry focusing on advanced technology, added-value, R & D and innovation. I say this appreciatively that these headlines constitute the backbone of TAYSAD Strategy Roadmap also are the focal point of current political authority’s development plans’ focal point. The Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Draft, R & D Reform Packet, Incentive System and Production Development Supports are the best examples of this. These good examples will allow our sector to speed up. What happy that we were able to address our vision and strategies as true and have taken on the agenda of decision makers.”

In his speech at 38th General Meeting of TAYSAD, Fikri Işık, Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, said, “Before 2020, we are planning to launch production of the domestic made car. Along with this project we would let the technologies like battery, electric motor, driver control unit and autonomous vehicle systems acquire to our country. I would like to state clearly this when we said ‘let’s make domestic made car’, we stated this regarding our confidence in our supplier industrialists.” The member firms of TAYSAD accomplish 65 percent in automotive supplier industry and 70 percent of the exports,he noted. As for Mustafa Elitas, Minister of Economy, said the Turkish automotive industry possessed a crucial place in the Turkish economy, adding they would aim to raise current 0,9% share from the world exports to 1% in 2016. Minister Elitas also reminded previously our growth rate which was foreseen fewer than 3 percent has been revised by 3.8 percent. He continued, “It is our duty to encourage businessmen who achieve difficult business in order to achieve higher ones. We are working to encourage medium and high technological products in a different way.
