Pegasus Holds 5th International Logistic and Transport Conference

The 5th International Logistic and Transportation Conference were held at Istanbul University’s campus in the district of Avcilar with cooperation of Pegasus Cargo and Transport and Logistic University of Istanbul University late march. The international firms’ administrators of logistic sector shared their information and experiences in the subject with the students who attend to the related issues. At the opening ceremony delivering a speech, Mehmet Nane, Director General of Pegasus, said, “How today sharing and communicating of information became an obligation, the logistic sector is also represent of economy in the same value regarding its feature keeping exports and trade to stay on feet. In this scope, air transport and cargo sectors will be one of foremost devices to achieve Turkey’s targets set for 2023.” As for Guliz Ozturk, Deputy Director General for Trade, said, “11 years ago launching its business in 2005, today we, as Pegasus cargo, continue our services in a total of 97 destinations 33 of them in the home and 64 abroad. In the last 5 years, the cargo we transported increased over 100%. As of the end of 2015 with 17 percent growth the cargo we carried has reached by 11,716,948 kg.” At the conference, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Okumus, Dean of Transport and Logistic Faculty of Istanbul University; Cetin Nuhoglu, Chairman of International Transport Association and other related figures in the sector joined and delivered speeches.
