IETT Wins Prime Award

iettIETT, the Istanbul Public Transportation company won the Prime Award in the 13th e-Turkey (eTR) awards regarding its “smart transport systems”

The Smart Transport Systems and Increasing Service Quality in Public Transport Project of Istanbul Public Transportation Company (IETT) deserved key award in the 13th e-Turkey Awards held by Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen (TUSIAD) and Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV) under the patronage of Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBBM). Having qualified with its “Area Management System” and Smart Transport System and Increasing Service Quality in Public Transport, IETT was deserved the award. Having organized since 2003 onwards, the e-Turkey award ceremony was held at the TBBM ceremony hall. The IETT Director General Mumin Kahveci took the award from Ahmet Aydin, Deputy Speaker of TBBM, Faruk Eczacibasi, Chairman of TBV, Ali Koc, Deputy Chairman of TUSIAD. In his speech, Kahveci said, “This award obtained in the result of innovation and progresses related with transport activity made by Kadir Topbas, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan. We are also pursuit of the vison management of our mayor. I thank dear jury members which deserved the IETT to this award.” Last year, the IETT got primary award with the Interactive Passenger Informing Project. It is aimed to attract attention to the sample applications, to introduce innovative initiatives, to support and encourage the successful initiatives and to contribute spreading of these kinds of implementations in this direction through eTurkey awards, which take place among one of the most prestigious informatics awards of Turkey. The establishments, which contested in 6 categories and qualified, have been determined by the final voting of the jury. Winner of the 13th eTR Awards: The award winners in the categories directed towards public bodies are as follows: Data Collection Chairmanship of the Ministry of Development: e-Correspondence Information and Communication Technologies Authority: Interactive Frequence Processes System The Ministry of Health: e-pulse As for the categories directed towards Local Governments; Seljuk Municipality awarded with “Mobile Municipality Applications” Kadiköy Municipality awarded with “Kadiköy in My Mind” The IETT awarded with “Increasing Service Quality in Public Transport through Smart Transport System”
