meeting expectations of the Turkish Supplier Industry and Automotive sector’s shareholders
The head of Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers (TAYSAD) Alper Kanca said heightening in the Turkish Automotive sector was continuing and economy representatives have showed power of the Turkish industry to the entire world by sustaining their works. Alper Kanca, Chairman of TAYSAD evaluated last one year of the Turkish automotive sector. Stating the sector has kept its steady advancement in the aspect of meeting expectations of the Turkish Supplier Industry and Automotive sector’s shareholders, Alper Kanca said; “As known, last year in this period our country passed through a difficult exam and we have overcome that violent period thanks to the Turkish people, political will and decisive stance of our security forces. Our country is continuing on its way into a stabilized structure. In the last one year, the Turkish automotive industry and supplier industry has refreshed its confidence fulfilling its all promises without letting any hesitation.” He continued, “When general economy and automotive sector figures are investigated within the last one year, we can see good developments in our economy. The all sector representatives maintain their efforts doing their best to ensure continuity of economy and increase efficiency.” Automotive sector exports up 22 percent in H1 About growth, Kanca said; “We see that the Turkish economy grew 5 percent in the first quarter. In addition, the Turkish automotive sector is one of the foremost production hubs of the global automotive sector. Exporting to 180 countries, 78 percent of our exports direct towards the EU countries. In H12017, the total exports of the sector have reached $14,7 billion with 22 percent rise. Of these, $4,7 billion belonged to the supplier industry. The total production raised by 869 thousand units increasing 20 percent in H1 this year. As for reflection of this success is over 1 million 650 thousand unit production, more than 1 million 350 thousand unit exports worth over $27 billion.” Our connections abroad and cooperation continues nonstop As for the developments in the sector Kanca said, “As any negativity is not experienced in our sector, our all business processes continue in its normal order. Our connections and cooperation abroad continue nonstop. As the representatives of automotive supplier industry, we will continue to work with our entire power to strengthen our industry and economy.
